Educators demonstrate a broad knowledge base and an understanding of areas they teach.
Throughout my practicum experiences, I have consistently demonstrated a broad knowledge base of the curricular areas that I have taught. During my four-week practicum, I was able to incorporate mathematical language within the 2D and 3D shapes unit. We discussed vertices, counting the sides, and include some of the trickier shapes as an extension for my extending students. I also used a broad knowledge base when I was on my ten-week practicum, demonstrating a strong awareness of the water cycle and encouraging students to use the proper language for the cycle components as well.
I used the following link to research the topic in full before introducing it to my class. This link helped me to fully understand the topic before teaching it, to ensure I was able to answer any questions that the students may have had for me. This research helped me to explain to the learners what the importance was of each stage within the water cycle.
